This collection documents the activities of Pioneer United Methodist Church (Pioneer, La.). The collection includes membership records, quarterly conference records, board meeting minutes, church administrative records, photographs, programs, Sunday School records, blueprints, a memorial book, and a guest book. The quarterly conference records contain references to other nearby congregations: Campbell’s Chapel, Epps, Floyd, Forest, Midway, Kilbourne, and Oak Grove.

Biographical / Historical

Pioneer United Methodist Church (Pioneer, La.) was first organized in 1912 where it was on a circuit with three other churches. In 1965, a new church was built on land to the east of the original structure. This new building was located at 111 Ash Street (Pioneer, La.). Over the years, Pioneer shared a circuit with the following nearby churches: Campbell’s Chapel, Epps, Floyd, Forest, Midway, Kilbourne, and Oak Grove. Pioneer United Methodist Church closed in 2019.
