Biographical / Historical
Faith United Methodist Church was located at 6806 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana.
In June 1989, Rev. Willie Jackson, Jr. was appointed to start a new congregation in a portion of the facility that simultaneously served as Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Faith's first worship service occurred on September 9, 1989. In 1995, the Cedar Grove congregation left to merge with Morningside United Methodist Church. Faith continued using the facility and established a Cooperative Outreach Ministry with Broadmoor United Methodist Church (Shreveport, La.) and Grace Community United Methodist Church (Shreveport, La.).
Faith United Methodist Church closed in 2009.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Collection consists of multiple accessions. The first (accession number 2009-008) was transferred by John Sauls (member of Grace Community United Methodist Church, Shreveport, La.). The others (accession number 2013-007 and 2018-022) were transferred by Lisa Conly Cronin (Chief Financial Officer of Common Ground Community, Inc. (Shreveport, La.).
