Biographical / Historical
Grand Isle United Methodist Church (Grand Isle, La.) began in 1956. It traces its origins to an influx of Protestant oilfield workers. Originally, the only church on the island was Catholic. So, the Methodists and Baptists both organized churches to serve them. Grand Isle United Methodist Church was located at 100 Oak Street, Grand Isle, Louisiana. The church was discontinued in 2017.
