Biographical / Historical

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church (Ruston, La.) is located at 4330 Louisiana Highway 818, approximately six miles southwest of Ruston, Louisiana. The church traces its origins to the 1840s. In the congregation's early years, services were held at Camp Ground Church under a brush arbor. In the late-1840s, the first building was constructed. In 1941, the church was damaged by winds and rebuilt in 1943. Cooper’s Chapel United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2022.
