Biographical / Historical

MacArthur Drive United Methodist Church (Alexandria, La.) originated as Wesley Methodist Church in 1949 and was located at 4210 South MacArthur Drive. In 1973, the congregation changed the church’s name from Wesley to MacArthur Drive. In 2002, the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church formally declared MacArthur Drive United Methodist Church discontinued and abandoned. In 2003, the nearby Newman United Methodist Church (Alexandria, La.) opened a community outreach center using the MacArthur Drive church building.
