Biographical / Historical
Ville Platte United Methodist Church (Ville Platte, La.) originated in 1942. In 1943, the congregation purchased land and established a church building at 612 West Cotton Street. In 1999, the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church formally declared Ville Platte UMC discontinued and abandoned. Many of the congregation’s remaining members joined the nearby Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church (Opelousas, La.).
