Biography

The Sugar Town Circuit, located within the Opelousas District, appears to have been created by the Louisiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South around 1872. It has connections to the older Calcasieu Circuit. The circuit consisted of multiple congregations, some of which appear inconsistently and seem to have been short-lived. Churches identified include: Clear Creek, Dry Creek, Harmony, Hopewell, Liberty Grove, Mount Pisgah, New Hope, Oak Grove, Pine Island, Sugar Creek, Sugar Town, and Sweet Home.
