Biographical / Historical
Dr. Robert E. Smith served as professor of Biblical literature at Centenary College of Louisiana from 1920 to 1949. In 1921, he was appointed dean of the college. He founded the Four Square Bible Class of Shreveport in 1923. The R. E. Smith Religious Building, opened in 1962 at Centenary, was named in honor of him. Smith's publications include Old Lands-Ever New (Nashville, TN: Cokesbury Press, 1927).
