Centenary College of Louisiana photograph negative collection
Scope and Contents
The Centenary College of Louisiana photograph negative collection consists of images depicting the
college, its faculty and students, campus events, and athletics. Many of the images were published in
Centenary’s Yoncopin yearbook and Conglomerate student newspaper in 1951 and 1952.
The titles used in “Series 1: Photographic negatives” reflect titles written on the original envelopes,
though some titles have been edited for clarity, and some unidentified images have been titled. Written
on a few original envelopes is the name “McClure,” which may indicate the photographer was
Herschel McClure, who served as a co-editor of the Conglomerate in 1951 and 1952. A group of
images that remain unidentified appear at the end of Series 1. “Series 2: Photograph negative
envelopes” consists of the collection's original envelopes.
