Biographical / Historical
Dr. Arthur Marvin Shaw, Jr., served as professor of English at Centenary College of Louisiana from 1927 to 1953. Shaw was the first president of the North Louisiana Historical Society which was formed in 1952. His publications include Centenary College Goes to War in 1861 (Shreveport, LA: Centenary College of Louisiana, 1940); William Preston Johnston, A Transitional Figure of the Confederacy (Baton Rouge, LA: Louisiana State University Press, 1943); "Ante-Bellum Campus Life at Centenary College," The McNeese Review 4, no. 1 (Summer 1951): 45-66.
