The Dean of Women at Centenary College of Louisiana was an administrative position that existed from approximately 1923 to 1974. The Dean of Women was responsible for overseeing women’s housing on campus, sororities, Maroon Jackets, and maintaining a roster for each organization connected with the college. The Dean of Women also coordinated the annual honors chapel, which recognized students for achievement in academic and athletic fields. In spring 1974, Centenary rearranged the Student Services branch of administration which eliminated the position of Dean of Women and replaced it with the Assistant Dean of Students.
