This collection consists of a scrapbook created by Pierson’s mother, Willie McGoldrick (1880-1933). The scrapbook relates to the activities of James F. Pierson from 1918 to 1941. It primarily contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and printed items from 1922 to 1926 related to the Centenary College of Louisiana student athletic activities of Pierson. Pierson played on the college’s football, basketball, and baseball teams. During this time period, the teams were coached by Bo McMillin and Homer Norton. In 1922, Pierson was a member of the basketball team winning the college basketball championship of Louisiana. The scrapbook also contains a small amount of material related to Pierson’s high school days and post-collegiate employment activities.
