Quarterly conference record book, 1886 - 1903
Scope and Contents
Typescript copy of quarterly conference record book for the Jena and Jonesville Circuit of the Louisiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Included with the typescript are a table of contents, forward, and name index. James S. Ellard created the typescript in 1990.
The record book includes information about the general state of the churches and Sunday Schools, the religious instruction of children, financial matters, building construction and renovation projects, and statistical information about baptisms and membership. Specific individuals identified in the volume are usually church administrators. In some instances, members are identified at the time of joining a congregation, baptism, and death. The reports for the years 1894-1896 are missing. Following the quarterly conference records is a report dated 1899 written by Rev. D. E. Kelly about churches on the circuit.
