Biography

Charles Babington Tomb (1888-1951), the son of S. G. Tomb, was raised in Jackson, Louisiana. In 1901, he enrolled as a preparatory student at Centenary College of Louisiana, then took college classes at Centenary through 1906. He received A.B. and B.D. degrees from Southwestern Presbyterian University (Clarksville, Tenn.). Tomb became a Presbyterian minister and served churches in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana. Tomb married Olive Eugenia Wilson Tomb (1898-1974); they had three children.
