Biography

George Lott Harrell (1875-1959) is the son of Lucien Harrell and Carolyn Carmichael Harrell. He graduated from Millsaps College (Jackson, Miss.) in 1899. Harrell’s teaching profession included employment at the following institutions: Hendrix College (Conway, Ark.) 1900-1902, Professor of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Centenary College of Louisiana (Jackson, La.) 1902-1904, Epworth University (Oklahoma City, Okla.) 1904-1908, Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy at Centenary College of Louisiana (Shreveport, La.) 1908-1909, president at Mansfield Female College (Mansfield, La.) 1909-1910, Winnfield High School (Winnfield, La.) 1910-1911, Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, La.) 1911, and Millsaps College (Jackson, Miss.) 1911-1947.
