Biography

James B. Dodd (1807-1872) was born in Loudon Country, Virginia. In 1841, he became professor of mathematics at Centenary College (Brandon Springs, Miss.). With the college’s move to Jackson, Louisiana, he accepted his same teaching position in January 1846, but resigned in July 1846 to accept a position at Transylvania University (Lexington, Ky.).

Scope and Contents This collection primarily consists of photocopied material about James B. Dodd.
