Biography

Saint James United Methodist Church (Hahnville, La.) traces its history to 1862 on the Fashion Plantation operated by Civil War general Richard Taylor. In 1875, the church relocated to Hahnville, Louisiana. The congregation constructed a church at 215 Pine Street. A hurricane destroyed the church building in 1965, and it was rebuilt at the same location. The church was discontinued in 2011.
