Mary Booth letter

Letter from Mary Booth to her grandson, John C. White, dated 1848 November 9. At the time, White was enrolled as a student at Centenary College of Louisiana. The letter, written from Bayou Boeuf, Louisiana, mentions the family’s struggles with sugarcane production. Booth also offers advice about selecting a suitable woman for marriage.
