North Cross United Methodist Church (Madisonville, La.)

 Organization

Biography

North Cross United Methodist Church was located at 311 Louisiana Highway 21, Madisonville, Louisiana.

As growth occurred in the western area of Saint Tammany Parish, the decision was made to start a new church in the area. Twelve acres of land were purchased just north of Madisonville on Hwy 21. In June 1999, Rev. Flint Shea was appointed to begin organizing the new church.

As of 2004, services were being held at the Maritime Museum in Madisonville while funds were being raised for the construction of the church facilities. The first building will be a 9,000 square foot multipurpose unit, with seating for 300. It will include a large meeting area, a kitchen, storage, office space, restrooms, a prayer room, meeting rooms, and a nursery. The church will be equipped with audio-visual technology as well. Parking is planned for 150 cars.

North Cross United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in May 2023.
