Biography

Lacombe United Methodist Church (Lacombe, La.) was located on 27577 Saint Joseph Street, Lacombe, Louisiana.

Circa 1885, the Toomer family donated property for a Methodist church and cemetery in Lacombe, Louisiana. The Toomer Methodist Episcopal Church South was abandoned in 1911. Church members then began meeting at the Lacombe schoolhouse until 1925. The congregation then met in Eva Todd Derx's home until the church re-organized in 1927 as the Lacombe Methodist Episcopal Church South. In 1951, the congregation dedicated a new church building located at 27577 Saint Joseph Street in Lacombe, Louisiana. In 1984, the congregation of Saint Tammany United Methodist Church merged with Lacombe United Methodist Church.

Lacombe United Methodist Church closed in November 2020.
