Biography

First United Methodist Church (Houma, La.) traces its origins to 1845. A church building was dedicated in 1850, but the congregation was discontinued in 1888. In 1907, Methodists in Houma organized a new congregation. In 1922, they constructed a church at 502 School Street. In 1956, the church moved and dedicated a new building at 6109 Louisiana Highway 311.
