Biography

Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church (Morgan City, La.) originated as Pharr Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, South in the mid 1870s. The congregation dedicated its first building in 1878. The church’s minister coordinated missionary work by boat travelling to the nearby communities of Bayou Chene, Persimmon Pass, and Bayou Smith; this occurred from 1926 to 1933 and resumed in 1940.
