Biography

Mill Creek United Methodist Church (Saline, La.) traces its history to a congregation organized in 1880. Around 1910, the congregation moved several miles north of Saline and was known as Burk Place Methodist Episcopal Church South. Services occurred at this location until 1944. In 1953, members reactivated the church near its original location as the Mill Creek Methodist Church (Saline, La.). Members constructed and dedicated a new church building in 1972. In 1989, the Louisiana United Methodist Annual Conference formally declared Mill Creek United Methodist Church discontinued and abandoned. In 2007, the Louisiana United Methodist Annual Conference passed an amended resolution concerning the Mill Creek church property.
