Scope and Contents The Harry Hale, Jr. papers primarily consist of research material Hale collected while writing the book, Standing in the Gap: The Life and Ministry of Rev. Lea Joyner (Lima, OH: Fairway Press, 1987). Joyner was one of the few ordained woman in the Louisiana Conference of the Methodist Church (South Central Jurisdiction) during the mid-twentieth century. Memory Lane audiocassettes consist of tape recordings. Of the original KRMD radio station collection of recordings, the archives selected several tapes for permanent preservation because the interview was coherent and gave interesting information.
