Biographical / Historical

Red Oak Methodist Episcopal Church was founded in the early 1800s. The church was built on property donated by the Efferson Family in Red Oak. Other early families in the church were the Moores, the Effersons, the McLins, the Hughes, the Brousards, the Davidsons, the Carpenters, the Sibleys, and the Watts.

The congregation, led by Pastor Bodi, decided to move from Red Oak to the present location in Livingston in 1944. The name was changed to Livingston Methodist Church. Services were held in private homes while construction took place. Since then, Sunday school classes and a fellowship hall have been built.
