Photocopy facsimile of an excerpt of Otto Stanley Varnado’s thesis, “A History of the Early Institutions of Higher Learning in Louisiana,” which was written for his master of arts degree at Louisiana State University. Biographical / Historical
Otto Stanley Varnado (1890-1960) graduated from Louisiana College (Pineville, La.) and Louisiana State University. He served as a school principal and mayor of Osyka, Mississippi. Varnado married Lucy Lea Wall Varnado (1905-1993); they had one daughter.
