 File — Box: 1, Folder: 50

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

The church records consist of items related to congregations within the Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Winegart’s husband pastored many of these congregations. The bulk of the records pertain to First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, 1909-2004. Material includes research on the history of the church as well as the congregation’s own archives. Also included are clippings, correspondence, printed items, and photographs. The photographs depict Rev. Dana Dawson, a downtown parade on Shreveport’s Texas Street, the congregation’s building, a Sunday School class, the Church Board, and the 1995 Shreveport Churches historic marker. Material from other congregations primarily consists of church histories and membership directories.
